On 12/07/2025 at 19:30, Prior Lake Police officers were dispatched to Mystic Lake Casino, Prior Lake, Scott County, Minnesota, to investigate a report of finding a small amount of white powder, in a plastic baggie. Security stated they were doing further review and believed the suspect/owner of the suspect narcotics was still on scene. At the scene, the officers were told by security that they had located the person who dropped the bag, identified as Alex Mitchell Vijums, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the Defendant, who was still on the gaming floor.
The officer reviewed the surveillance video and saw a taller while male wearing a dark puffy winter jacket and a winter hat with a Vikings Logo, identified as the Defendant. The Defendant was standing on the casino floor at approximately 18:30, and he reached toward his pants, and a small white object fell out of his pants. The Defendant then walked away with a blonde female. Security recovered the small plastic bag that contained a white powder, which later field tested positive for cocaine, a Schedule II Controlled Substance, and weighed 1 gram.
Security and officer went to the gaming floor and was taken to the security office. Officer read the Miranda warning to the Defendant, who stated: The white powder did belong to him. The powder was cocaine. He was not aware he had dropped it. The Defendant was released at the scene and trespassed from the property.
