Probable Cause
On or about February 24, 2026, Moorhead Police Department Officers took a report of a motor vehicle theft that occurred at [ADDRESS REDACTED]. In Moorhead, located in Clay County, MN. There, the vehicle owner reported that they'd spent the day with BRIANNA MARIE SMITH [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the Defendant. The vehicle owner further reported that while the Defendant was in their home, they went to take a shower, and returned to find that the Defendant had left, and their vehicle, a 2013 Dodge Journey, had gone missing along with the vehicle owner's keys.
The Defendant did not have the owners permission to take the car. The vehicle was later located on February 25, 2026. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn. Stat. 609.49., intentional failure to appear for duly scheduled court appearances may result in additional criminal charges, and in addition to any arrest warrant that may otherwise be issued by the Court.
