On 3/8/26 at approximately 1817 hours, Ramsey County Deputies responded to [ADDRESS REDACTED]. In Roseville, Ramsey County to assist Roseville Police with an assault call. Dispatch advised that there was a male suspect chasing people around the park with a machete. Upon arrival, Deputies saw a black male wearing all black, later identified as Christopher Michael LEWIS [DOB REDACTED], standing next to a tree. As the Deputy exited the squad LEWIS threw a black machete behind a tree and voluntarily got into the prone position.
LEWIS was taken into custody. During a search incident to arrest, Deputies found a hammer in his pants pocket. Also in his pants pockets, Deputies found tinfoil containing suspected methamphetamine. The substance later tested positive for Methamphetamine with a net weight of.27 grams. A female, ALS, said she was sitting her vehicle with her friend, ADB. LEWIS, whom they did not know, was sitting at a park table. LEWIS gestured for them to come to him. ALS and ADB exited their vehicle and began walking toward LEWIS and LEWIS began walking toward them.
As they approached each other LEWIS said that the reason he did not hit them was because they were ladies. ALS said a male passerby, later identified as SMW, then approached LEWIS and told him to leave ALS and ADB alone. At that point, LEWIS turned his attention to WALKER, pulled a machete from his waist, and started waving it toward WALKER. Deputies spoke to SMW who said that he was walking south on Rice street when he noticed an altercation and walked over to help. LEWIS then focused his attention on him, pulled out a machete, and started walking, yelling, and swinging the machete toward him.
While being arrested, LEWIS made several spontaneous utterances, including admitting to possessing the machete and the methamphetamine. He also said that he got a “little aggressive" and “flashed my f****** blade”, which “was the dumbest s*** ever." LEWIS also said, "I deserve jail, I f***** up, I shouldn't have threatened the women.".
