On January 19, 2026, at approximately 2:33 P.M., police responded to an assault call at [ADDRESS REDACTED], Maplewood, MN. The caller, SRS, said she met at man, later identified as STEWART RASHAD ROLLE – [DOB REDACTED], to purchase marijuana. SRS left her twelve year old grandson, AKS, in the vehicle and met ROLLE in the apartment vestibule. SRS said they argued about the quality of marijuana, and ROLLE felt like she was being disrespectful to him. SRS reported that she did not want to buy the marijuana and left, but she returned after ROLLE called her and asked her to come back.
SRS returned to the vestibule, and they continued arguing. SRS said ROLLE said she was disrespecting him, and he pulled out a black handgun from his waistband and pointed it at her while saying, “B**** you don’t disrespect me.” SRS reported that she walked back to her car with ROLLE following her, and he raised the handgun again and pointed it at her as she got into her car with her grandson. SRS described the firearm as a black pistol with a “red thing on it”. AKS told police that he was sitting in his grandmother’s car and noticed something going on with SRS and ROLLE. AKS reported that ROLLE pulled out a black handgun and pointed it at the vehicle while SRS was getting inside.
AKS described SRS looking shocked and afraid and said she was shaking. AKS reported that he was afraid for his life and thought ROLLE would shoot them. Police put out a pick up and hold for ROLLE. On January 22, Maplewood police were notified that St. Paul Police had ROLLE in custody. Maplewood police responded and took custody of him. Following a Miranda advisory, ROLLE told police that he invited SRS over on the afternoon of January 19 to purchase Percocet from her. ROLLE said he met with SRS in the vestibule.
ROLLE reported that SRS previously made a threat to shoot him, so after purchasing the Percocet, he asked SRS why she made that threat. ROLLE said SRS left after a brief argument. ROLLE denied pulling a gun on SRS and said he does not possess any firearms. ROLLE told the officer he would not commit a crime or possess a firearm because he’s on supervised release. ROLLE told police to check the apartment cameras as they would show that he did not point a firearm at SRS. The following information is offered for purposes of Rule 6.02. ROLLE has convictions for Third Degree Drug Possession (2023) and Fifth Degree Drug Sale (2023). ROLLE had a pending case containing charges of Fourth and Fifth Degree Drug Possession with an offense date of November 13, 2025 (RCAO File No. [PHONE REDACTED]) that was charged earlier today.
