Qaiden Shawn Smith

On March 31, 2026, Fond du Lac Tribal Department officers were dispatched to the Fond du Lac Tribal Center in Carlton County for the report of a male trespassing and damaging the property. Upon arriving on the scene, officers were given the description of the male who damaged the Tribal Center. Upon entering the Tribal Center, officers observed a broken chair, broken glass, a turned over table, turned over food cart, multiple food items on the carpet, multiple coffee thermoses laying on the floor, and a broken coat rack.

While in the Tribal Center, officers located the described male later identified as Qaiden Shawn Smith [DOB REDACTED] hereinafter Defendant. During the interaction, Defendant confirmed to officers that he was the person who damaged the tribal center. Based upon the discussion with the Tribal Center staff and officers’ observation, officers believed the total damage inflicted to the tribal center valued over $1000.
