On May 20, 2026, around 8:27 AM, officers were dispatched to the area of West Broadway and Aldrich Avenue North in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, for the report of a fight with a weapon. Officers arrived at the scene and located BRANDI ROCHELLE DIXON [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, yelling at the Victim. Officers detained the Defendant to further investigate. The Victim [NAME REDACTED] was “assaulted,” but was unwilling or unable to provide additional details. The Defendant acknowledged getting into a physical altercation with the Victim and hitting him with an object.
Officers pulled up Milestone video and observed the Victim standing on the corner of Aldrich Avenue North on the phone. They observed the Defendant come around the corner and hit the Victim in the head with some sort of pole. In a post-Miranda statement, Defendant told investigators she did not know the Victim and the encounter began when the Victim asked for money and the Defendant declined. The Defendant said the Victim called her a name, so they began arguing. She acknowledged attempting to throw a drink at the Victim, [NAME REDACTED] instead spilled inside her vehicle.
She then got out of her vehicle and confronted the Victim. This quickly escalated into a physical fight between the two. At some point, the Defendant said she retrieved a black tire lug nut tool from inside her vehicle and struck the Victim. The Victim attempted to leave the area, but the Defendant admitted following him in her vehicle into the Cub Foods parking lot. Investigators reviewed video footage of the incident. The video showed a silver vehicle stopping at a red light. A male pedestrian crossed the street and engaged in some sort of verbal interaction with the driver of the silver vehicle.
After the male finished crossing the intersection, the silver vehicle abruptly pulled over. The Defendant exited the vehicle and approached the male. The two then engaged in a physical altercation on the sidewalk. During the altercation, Defendant retrieved an object from the vehicle and approached the male swinging. She struck him at least one time with it. The male eventually crossed the street and moved off camera. Defendant returned to her vehicle and appeared to pursue the male. Defendant is currently in custody.
