On June 12, 2025, Officer Kolling of the Faribault Police Department was dispatched to the Emeralds at Faribault, 500 1st Avenue SE, Faribault, Rice County, Minnesota, for a report about fraudulent card transactions. A resident’s credit card was used to make unauthorized purchases online and at various fast-food places in Faribault, Rice County, Minnesota. The resident was identified as A.M. Det. Fillipi of the Faribault Police Department was assigned to conduct follow-up investigation. Det. Fillipi reviewed a copy of A.M.’s bank statements.
Det. Fillipi saw several unauthorized transactions on A.M.’s account that occurred from May 16, 2025 to June 11, 2025. A regional social services consultant contacted Det. Fillipi and informed her that they were conducting an internal investigation. They contacted Sugar Baby Care about the purchase made using A.M.’s credit card. They learned that the package was sent to AYANLE IBRAHIM at a residence located on Spring Road in Faribault, Rice County. AYANLE IBRAHIM is a former employee at Emeralds at Faribault.
Det. Fillipi reviewed A.M.’s bank statements and saw that there was an unauthorized purchase made for Valleyfair tickets on March 23, 2025 in the amount of $136.56. The detective spoke to security staff at Valleyfair and obtained video of several Somali males and transaction information for the tickets. Three tickets were purchased online using A.M.’s credit card. The name on the purchase was ABDIRAHAM A with an email address of [email redacted]. The billing address was for [ADDRESS REDACTED], Faribault, MN 55021. Det.
Fillipi showed the video from Valleyfair to staff at the Emeralds at Faribault. Staff identified one of the individuals as MAHAMEDKADER SALET ABDIRAHMAN, [DOB REDACTED]. The staff said he is an employee and his address is [ADDRESS REDACTED]. On June 25, 2025, Det. Fillipi spoke to MAHAMEDKADER SALET ABDIRAHMAN at his residence. He made the following statements: He said a friend bought the Valleyfair tickets for him and said he could use them. He identified the friend as AYANLE IBRAHIM. He said AYANLE IBRAHIM purchased the tickets online and asked to use his address.
He said AYANLE IBRAHIM has also bought him a red sweatshirt from Lululemon. He admitted that he works at Emeralds (Faribault). He said he picked up Domino’s pizza for AYANLE IBRAHIM once or twice about three weeks ago. He admitted that he used the stolen card credit that AYANLE IBRAHIM gave to him. He denied knowing that the credit card was stolen. He said he never saw the name on the card. AYANLE IBRAHIM sent him a picture of the front and back of the card on May 14 or May 16. He said AYANLE IBRAHIM told him he got the card from WARSAME MUHAMED. He then admitted that he knew that the card was taken from Emeralds.
He denied taking the card. He admitted he used the numbers on the card to buy a tan sweatshirt online at Lululemon. On June 26, 2025, Det. Fillipi spoke to AYANLE HASSAN IBRAHIM, [DOB REDACTED], at his residence. He made the following statements: He said his friend, MAHAMEDKADER, got him Lululemon using the credit card. He denied knowing anything about the stolen credit card. He admitted that they went to Valleyfair. He said MAHAMEDKADER told him he got a ticket for him. He denied knowing how MAHAMEDKADER got the ticket.
