Officers with the Ramsey County Violent Crime Enforcement Team developed information that JAMAL MAURICE CRONIN [DOB REDACTED] was involved in drug sales in the Twin Cities area. Investigation showed that Cronin rented apartment 305 at [ADDRESS REDACTED] West, St. Paul, Ramsey County. On March 27, 2026, officers obtained a search warrant for Cronin’s person, his Infiniti bearing Wisconsin license plates ATP9351, and his apartment at [ADDRESS REDACTED]. On April 1, 2026, officers determined that Cronin had spent the night at [ADDRESS REDACTED]. Officers stopped Cronin driving his Infiniti at Marion Street and Thomas Avenue, St. Paul, Ramsey County.
Officers asked Cronin what his address was, and he claimed he lived in Racine, Wisconsin. Officers found a small baggie of white powder in the Infiniti. Officers also found multiple pieces of mail addressed to Cronin with the [ADDRESS REDACTED] West address. Officers recovered a set of keys from Cronin. Cronin was advised of his constitutional rights and agreed to speak to police. Cronin said the bag in the Infiniti was his, and it contained MDMA. When asked if he lived at [ADDRESS REDACTED] West, Cronin said he never stayed there and the address was old.
Cronin later admitted he rented the apartment, but he never goes there. Cronin claimed he got two keys to the apartment and lost one. Cronin denied selling fentanyl or knowing there was drugs in the apartment. On April 1, 2026, officers used the keys recovered from Cronin to open apartment 305 at [ADDRESS REDACTED] West. Officers found personal documents addressed to Cronin, prescriptions in his name, and his debit and credit cards inside the apartment. Officers found a brick press in a green suitcase in the kitchen.
Officers found rolls of heat seal bags used to package drugs in the apartment. There was white powder on the kitchen table, counters, and floor consistent with drug packaging. Officers found multiple packages of drugs in the apartment. Two bricks of powder tested positive for the presence of fentanyl and cocaine and weighed 583.47 grams. Four bricks of powder tested positive for the presence of cocaine and weighed 497.65. Two bricks of powder tested positive for the presence of heroin and weighed 28.4 grams.
Cronin has 2 federal convictions for distribution of heroin from the Eastern District of Wisconsin. Cronin has a prior conviction for conspiracy to distribute cocaine from Racine County, Wisconsin. Cronin has a prior conviction for possession with intent to distribute cocaine from Racine County, Wisconsin.
