On January 30, 2026, at approximately 3:29 A.M., police responded to the area of Fairview and Marshall Avenues in St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota. The call comments advised that a Metro Transit officer was with a female at the bus stop who pressed the emergency button after being assaulted by a male who then fled. Upon arrival, police met with DYT, who reported that her child’s father, SHUN-TE LAVADURS BUCKLEY – [DOB REDACTED], assaulted and strangled her during an altercation. DYT said they were in downtown St. Paul then took a bus to find a place to sleep for the night.
When they arrived, DYT stated that BUCKLEY got angry that she would not let him use her lighter, and he struck her once on the right side of her face. DYT said BUCKLEY then pushed his head into her head, which caused her head to strike the wall behind her. Shortly thereafter, DYT gave BUCKLEY the lighter and attempted to leave. DYT reported that BUCKLEY followed her and pushed her to the ground. DYT said she tried to walk away from BUCKLEY, but he came up behind her and put her in a chokehold using one of his arms.
While being strangled, DYT reported feeling lightheaded, being unable to breathe, and thinking she was going to pass out. DYT also said she lost bladder control due to the strangulation. DYT reported that she ran to the bus shelter and pushed the emergency button then BUCKLEY fled the scene. Police observed small abrasions on the left side of DYT’s neck and possible bruising on the side of her head where she said she was struck. BUCKLEY has the following qualified domestic violence related offense convictions within the past ten years: Misdemeanor Domestic Assault in Ramsey County District Court File No. ••-CR-••-•••• on June 29, 2022. DYT was the victim.
Gross misdemeanor Violation of Domestic Abuse No Contact Order in Ramsey County District Court File No. ••-CR-••-•••• on July 29, 2025. DYT was the victim.
