Probable Cause
On March 12, 2026, at 2344 hours, St. Paul police officers in a fully marked squad car attempted to stop a 2006 GMC Yukon with no plates, driven by Paige Ann Gerdts, [DOB REDACTED]. Police had observed the vehicle stopping on a sidewalk as it exited the Speedway at 390 Maryland, St. Paul, Ramsey County. Officers activated emergency lights on Maryland as the vehicle reached the on ramp at Interstate 35E. The vehicle did not stop or yield but slowed. The vehicle continued to drive. The officers activated the siren.
The vehicle fled. Officers followed the vehicle. The vehicle eventually stopped in front of 65 W Hyacinth. Gerdts exited the driver’s seat and fled on foot. Officers pursued and apprehended Gerdts. Investigation showed that Gerdts had warrant for drugs out of Waseca and Morrison Counties. Officers searched the vehicle and found a purse with Gerdt’s identification inside. That purse also contained suspected narcotics. Presumptive testing of the suspected narcotics was positive for methamphetamine with a net weight of.61 grams.
Gerdts declined a custodial interview.
