On or about November 2, 2025, at approximately 2:26 pm, Wright County Sheriff's Deputy Reed was on routine patrol traveling west on 78th St near Parell Ave NE in Otsego, Wright County, Minnesota, when he observed a vehicle traveling higher than the posted speed limit. Deputy Reed activated his radar device and obtained a speed reading of 56 miles per hour in a 40 mile per hour zone. Deputy Reed turned around to initiate a traffic stop and activated the emergency lights and siren on his marked squad.
The vehicle pulled into the driveway of 15280 75th Cir NE and pulled into the garage. A female driver opened the driver's door of the vehicle and attempted to flee into the residence. Deputy Reed and Deputy Warren attempted to restrain the suspect from entering the home by grabbing her arms and by attempting to place her in handcuffs. Deputies also gave the female verbal commands to stop resisting, but she continued to resist by trying to physically pull her arms away from Deputies. The female was later identified as Ashley Sheree Haldorson, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein.
Defendant made multiple statements regarding consuming alcohol earlier that day. Deputies also smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Defendant's breath. Defendant's eyes were also watery and she appeared to have urinated on herself as her jeans were wet. Defendant was arrested and transported to the Wright County Jail. After being read the breath test advisory and being informed that refusal to submit to a breath test was a crime, Defendant refused to comply with the test. A review of Defendant's criminal history shows one qualified prior impaired driving conviction within the previous ten years in court file ••-CR-••-••••.
