07/07/2009), was sexually assaulted by her grandfather, Jeffery William Vogel [DOB REDACTED], defendant herein, during a wedding reception at Crooked Willow in Osakis Township, Douglas County, Minnesota on September 16, 2023. A. B. C was 14 years old at the time of the incident. T. M. B. Stated that A. B. C. Wrote her a note detailing the sexual assault. Douglas County Sheriff’s Investigator Art Vinson interviewed A. B. C who stated that the defendant is her grandfather. On 09/16/2023, at a family wedding reception at Crooked Willow, A. B. C. Went to sit in a vehicle to get away from the noise of the wedding reception.
The defendant came out and sat in the vehicle with A. B. C. He stated how much he loved her and that she could trust him with anything. While saying these things he began rubbing her thigh. A. B. C. Was wearing ripped jeans. The defendant moved his hand up her thigh, went under the rips in her jeans and began rubbing her vaginal area with his fingers. He rubbed her vagina underneath her clothing, but did there was no digital penetration. The defendant was heavily intoxicated when the assault occurred.
A. B. C. Gave Inv. Vinson the letter she wrote her mom disclosing the incident. A. B. C told her boyfriend at the time, B. B. K., about the sexual assault after it happened. B. B. K. Is a juvenile and is no longer in a relationship with A. B. C. Inv. Vinson met with B. B. K who confirmed that A. B. C. Told him about the sexual assault through SnapChat. A. B. C. Also gave him a note that described the assault. B. B. K. Said the note was given to him in September of 2023. B. B. K gave that note to Inv.
Vinson. On 11/20/2025, Inv. Vinson interviewed the defendant who denied touching A. B. C in any inappropriate way.
