The following is based on your complainant’s review of the reports of other officers and your complainant’s own investigation: On January 11, 2026, at about 8:30pm, Metro Transit Police observed a woman holding a black sunglasses case at a bus shelter at Smith Ave. And Fifth St. In St. Paul, Ramsey County. As she opened the case and showed it to two men who were with her, officers could see that it appeared to contain narcotics. Officers approached the woman and told her that they needed to see the sunglasses case.
She resisted and was told that she was being detained. She continued to forcibly resist, including kicking at officers. As Officer Sean Glancey secured her in handcuffs, she strongly squeezed his left wrist between her arm and side. The woman was later identified as the defendant, Z’NAYA SAMIRROR GORDON ([DOB REDACTED]). A warrant was found to be outstanding for her arrest. The defendant was brought to a squad car. There, she turned to face Officer Collin Benson and spat directly at him, getting her saliva on the officer’s neck and hand.
As officers prepared to place a spit hood on the defendant head, she spat directly at Ofc. Glancey, getting saliva on his face and even into his mouth. Ofc. Glancey’s wrist was found to be strained from being squeezed by the defendant. The officer’s blood was also drawn, due to the exposure to the defendant’s saliva. The defendant faces pending charges of Disarming a Peace Officer - Felony, Assault in the Fourth Degree – Gross Misdemeanor, and Violation of Controlled Substance Laws in the Fifth Degree – Gross Misdemeanor (Case No. ••-CR-••-••••).
