On November 11, 2025, CSO B. Thompson was dispatched to a reported theft at a business located in south Rochester, within Olmsted County, Minnesota. The Reporting Party (R. P.), an adult fully identified in police reports, stated that a male suspect had shoplifted from the business on October 30, 2025. The suspect had entered the store, immediately grabbed tools, and walked out with them. The suspect made no attempt to pay for the items. The total value of the items stolen is $657.00. CSO Thompson reviewed surveillance footage and sent out a request to identify the suspect.
CSO Simonette identified the suspect as Tyler James Riehl [DOB REDACTED]. CSO Thompson also reviewed an incident report from November 1, 2025, involving the same suspect and same business. On this date, the same suspect (now identified as Riehl) once again entered the tool department. Riehl placed $1294.00 of merchandise in his cart and proceeded to exit the business without attempting to pay. Det. Gagnon reviewed the reports from both dates and confirmed Riehl's identity.
