Jason Lee Paulsen

On March 26, 2026, at approximately 12:45 A.M., police responded to [ADDRESS REDACTED], St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota, on a report of a domestic assault. Upon arrival, police spoke with ADH, who said that at around 12:30 A.M., she was in the parking lot of a restaurant in St. Paul to meet one of her friends and her friend’s new boyfriend. When they arrived, ADH greeted her friend then introduced herself to her friend’s boyfriend and gave him a hug. ADH said her fiancé, JASON LEE PAULSEN – [DOB REDACTED], observed the hug and got upset.

ADH reported that PAULSEN called her phone and yelled at her for hugging her friend’s boyfriend. Later, ADH was in the driver’s seat of her vehicle and PAULSEN was in the passenger seat, ADH said PAULSEN called her a “whore” and accused her of cheating on him. ADH reported that PAULSEN headbutted her in the forehead, slapped her in the face, and choked her. While being strangled, ADH said she was unable to swallow, her vision faded, she saw stars, her voice became raspy, and afterwards she could not swallow or drink anything without pain.

ADH stated that PAULSEN strangled her for 30-40 seconds and called her a “dumb bitch” while strangling her. ADH reported that while being strangled, she thought to herself that she would either have to fight for her life or calm it down. After PAULSEN stopped strangling her, ADH said she called her friend and her boyfriend to tell PAULSEN that she was not cheating. However, PAULSEN told her friend’s boyfriend to come outside and fight him and argued with him over the phone. Then PAULSEN asked ADH to take him home.

ADH drove PAULSEN to the apartment on Mclean Avenue. Once ADH parked, PAULSEN told her to give him back the engagement ring. ADH said PAULSEN slapped her and pushed her into the driver’s side door. When she got out of the car, ADH reported that PAULSEN pushed her backwards and she hit the back of her head on the doorframe. ADH said PAULSEN again put his hand around her throat but did not apply much pressure. While PAULSEN had his hand around her throat, ADH said PAULSEN hit her with his other hand and said, “Bitch, you’re going to pay.” PAULSEN then walked to his vehicle and drove away.

The officer observed that ADH had a small bump on her forehead above her right eye, a scratch mark above her left eyebrow, slight swelling around her left cheekbone that ADH said was tender to the touch, scratch marks on her right cheek, a scratch mark on the bottom of her chin, and a red mark on the right side of her bottom lip. ADH told the officer that she was scared PAULSEN would return to her apartment and retaliate since he has the keys for her apartment. In a follow-up statement, ADH told the investigator that there were three rounds of assaults.

During the first assault, ADH said she picked PAULSEN up from her apartment and was driving to the restaurant when PAULSEN slapped her in the face. During the second assault in the parking lot of the restaurant, ADH reported that PAULSEN backhanded her in the lip. During the third assault in the apartment complex parking lot, ADH said PAULSEN punched her several times in the head and choked her. ADH reported that PAULSEN strangled her with one hand and called her a “dumb bitch” and “stupid whore”. While being strangled, ADH said she saw stars, that everything went white, she felt lightheaded, and she struggled to breathe.
