On December 4, 2025, at approximately 7:38 P.M., Officer Lichtsinn was in the area of Maryland Avenue East and Hazelwood Street, Saint Paul, County of Ramsey, when a call was received for mail theft on the 1600 block of Maryland Avenue East. It was reported that two individuals stole packages and left west on Maryland Avenue. Officer Lichtsinn observed a male and a female walking in the middle of the street. The male was holding a bin with a couple of items in it. Officer Lichtsinn got behind the two individuals, who walked faster and away from the officer.

The male and female were told to stop. The male threw the tin box on the ground, and said, “You can have it back.” The female was identified as Aanenson. The male was identified as DAKOTA JAMZE DERJARLAIT, [DOB REDACTED]. DERJARLAIT said Aanenson had nothing to do with it. He said he stole the packages because it was cold out. Aanenson showed the officer a plastic bag with clothes in it. Inside the plastic bag, there was packaging for the items DERJARLAIT stole. The package was addressed to HK, [ADDRESS REDACTED], Apartment XXX.
