On January 17, 2026, Officer Flores was dispatched to [ADDRESS REDACTED], in the city of Anoka, County of Anoka, Minnesota to investigate a traffic accident. A vehicle bearing Minnesota License Plate [PLATE REDACTED] was reported to have struck several parked vehicles inside the Anoka Parking ramp. When Officer Flores arrived, he approached the vehicle and made contact with the driver, fully identified as Jon Michael Lary [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the Defendant. The Defendant had slow and lethargic movements and had watery and glossy eyes.
The Officer could smell the odor of alcohol emanating from the vehicle and on the Defendant’s breath. He asked the Defendant how much he had to drink that evening, and he responded, “probably too much.” Officer Flores had the defendant exit the vehicle and requested he perform several standard field sobriety tests, which the Defendant declined. As the Defendant exited the vehicle, he was unsteady on his feet and had to lean on the vehicle to maintain his balance. The Defendant commented that he was “too f***** up” to perform the tests.
The Defendant was arrested and his vehicle searched. Inside the vehicle police found a 50 ML bottle of Fireball whiskey and two black revolvers. The first, a black Llama Commanche II.357 bearing serial number S854030 was discovered on the rear seat of the vehicle. The second, lying next to the Llama Commanche was a Smith and Wesson case which contained another Llama.222 revolver style long rifle with serial number S827460. The Defendant was transported to the Anoka Police Department where he was read the breath test advisory and provided a breath sample indicating a blood alcohol concentration of.29. He was then transported to jail where he was searched, and jail staff discovered a white powdery substance that field tested positive for cocaine and weighed 1.2 grams inside one of his wallets.
The Defendant has previously been convicted of Felony Domestic Assault on March 27, 2019, which makes him ineligible to possess firearms. See Anoka County District Court file number ••-CR-••-••••. The Defendant was also previously convicted of Driving While Intoxicated on February 3, 2014. See District Court file number ••-CR-••-••••.
