At approximately 9:53 AM on 9/27/2028, Officers responded to a residence in Hopkins, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers encountered Abukar Bashir Abdi, herein Defendant, standing near the front door to the residence. Defendant had torn clothing, was missing a shoe and had blood on his hands and in various other places. Victim 1 and Victim 2, Defendant’s parents, stated that Defendant requested money and to use their vehicle. Victim 1 and Victim 2 declined Defendant’s request. Defendant continued to ask over the course of a few hours.
Defendant was in the living room with them when he struck the T. V., breaking it. Defendant was highly agitated and went out of the front door. Victims closed the front door behind Abdi and locked it to prevent him from coming inside. Victims stated they were scared that Defendant was going to come inside and hurt them. Defendant attempted to reenter the home through the garage and a window but was unable to. Defendant then broke the glass window on the door and began trying to reach inside and unlock the door.
The cost of repairing the door is $2,930. Defendant is currently out of custody.
