M., Elk River Officer Augustus Koppi responded to WalMart, located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in the city of Elk River, Sherburne County, Minnesota, on a report of a theft. Officer Koppi met with R. S. In the asset protection office. He stated that around 6:00 A.M. On June 15, 2025, a group of three males stole multiple items from Walmart. The parties used an emergency exit door so the theft was not discovered until later in the day. When reviewing the cameras, R. S. Observed three males steal multiple items.
The vehicle used was a U-Haul box truck with an elephant on the side. Detective Evan Patullo watched the cameras. He saw three males enter WalMart together. They split up once inside the store. Two of the parties exited through a back fire escape without paying for the items selected. Two parties had a cart with merchandise and one had a street side garbage bin. The parties walked out to the U-Haul and loaded the items inside and then left on foot to the north. Through investigation, discovered that Justin Samuel Schaden, [DOB REDACTED], matched the description of one of the parties in the store.
Schaden had previous cases in Wright County where he attempted to pass two checks which were not honored. Schaden left that incident in a U-haul and left behind a U-haul agreement which showed Ethan Marvin Anderson, [DOB REDACTED], and Logan Alex Crotty, [DOB REDACTED], as alternative drivers. Known images of Anderson and Crotty resemble the parties with Schaden at WalMart. R. S.
