Michael Martin Steele

On September 15, 2025, officers received a report of a firearm being discharged in an apartment complex at [ADDRESS REDACTED], St. Louis Park, Hennepin County. The reporting party stated that a tenant, identified as Michael Martin Steele, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, had emailed her and building management stating that Defendant had accidentally discharged his firearm while cleaning it the night before. Officers spoke with the reporting party who stated that Defendant had accidentally discharged his firearm through his unit’s wall and into the unit next to Defendant’s. Officers then called and spoke with Defendant about the incident.

Defendant admitted to accidentally discharging his firearm while practicing drawing it from his holster. Officers then went to the apartment complex and observed bullet holes in the walls of Defendant’s unit and the unit next to Defendant’s. Defendant is not in custody.
