On December 22, 2025, officers with the Crystal Police Department received a phone call from a known person (“Witness”). Witness was looking for an update related to a separate investigation into Tamika Mary Winters [DOB REDACTED] (“Defendant”). Officers provided the update to Witness. Witness told officers that there were additional crimes in which Defendant had committed at the Speedway Gas Station (“the Store”) located at 5359 West Broadway in Crystal, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Witness told officers that Defendant is an employee of the Store and had been stealing lottery tickets.
Officers reviewed evidence submitted by Witness and learned that between October 11, 2025, and December 19, 2025, Defendant stole lottery tickets with a face value of $6135.00. Officers reviewed video surveillance which showed Defendant using various methods to steal the lottery tickets. Defendant was arrested on December 23, 2025, provided her Miranda rights, and agreed to speak with officers. Defendant estimated the loss to the Store to be $3500. Defendant is presently charged in Hennepin County with Felony Card Fraud which is represented in court file ••-CR-••-••••. Due to Defendant’s on-going criminal activity, bail is requested to ensure public safety.
