On August 21, 2025, Anoka County Sheriff's Deputies were contacted by the Illinois Attorney General's Office in regards to an investigation that was ongoing involving Defendant Robert Scott Henze ([DOB REDACTED]). The Illinois investigators had learned that one of Defendant's siblings, T. S., indicated that she had experienced sexual abuse as a child by Defendant when they resided together in Anoka County. Anoka County investigators accompanied the Illinois investigators at all stages, and learned the following.
T. S. Reported that when she was between the ages of 4 and 13, Defendant, who was her half-brother and was almost 10 years older than her, would routinely engage in sexual contact with her. The last four years of the abuse would have occurred from 1985 to 1989, and took place at the family residence on 1st Avenue in Anoka (prior abuse occurred in Scott County). T. S. Gave a lengthy report, where she stated that Defendant initially sought mutual digital contact, and would expose his penis, ask her to touch it, and masturbate while touching T. S.'s bare vagina.
Over time, the behavior escalated to include digital anal penetration, compelled oral sex, and "grinding" until Defendant ejaculated. T. S. Stated that Defendant never put his penis inside her vagina, but that he would penetrate her with his fingers and would force her to perform oral sex on him. T. S. Stated that this generally happened at night when the rest of the family was asleep, and Defendant would lock the door to ensure no one would interrupt them. Defendant never threatened to harm T. S., but would attempt to groom her by offering her money and privileges, and insisting that the abuse was normal.
He also showed T. S. Pornographic magazines and instructed her to mimic them, further attempting to normalize the abuse. The abuse occurred at least weekly for many years, and ended when T. S. Was 13 and "in a moment of defiance", she yelled at Defendant to stop. Defendant also began an adult relationship that same year, and did not abuse T. S. Again. With a warrant and T. S.'s agreement, a pretextual phone call was set up. T. S. Called Defendant and confronted him about his abuse of her, and Defendant acknowledged the misconduct.
He apologized for exposing himself, for making T. S. Touch him, and for coercing her into sexual acts. He also apologized for showing T. S. Pornography and paying her for sexual contact. Investigators then spoke to Defendant directly. Defendant made many of the same admissions he made to T. S., but frequently claimed that he had no memory or that he could not recall any sexual activity happening once he had turned 18. He stated that he was a child when the abuse started (age 14) and stated that it was mutual body exploration at that time.
