M., Officer Bromback responded to a report of an unwanted person at Lunds & Byerly’s located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in the City of Eden Prairie, County of Hennepin, State of Minnesota. Officer Bromback was told that the male was arguing with the manager and employees of the store at the front entrance and the employees of Lunds & Byerly’s were requesting that the individual be trespassed. Officer Bromback arrived and observed the male arguing with Lunds & Byerly’s employees in the front entrance of the store.
Officer Bromback was told that the male attempted to shortchange multiple cashiers in the store and they wanted him trespassed from the property. Officer Bromback asked the male for identification. The male stated he did not have any identification and verbally identified himself as Yahye Ahmed Siyad, [DOB REDACTED]. Officer Bromback conducted a Department of Vehicle Services (DVS) check on the name Yahye Ahmed Siyad, [DOB REDACTED], and observed that the DVS photograph of Yahye Ahmed Siyad did not match the male.
Officer Gordhamer asked the male about his identity. The male confirmed multiple times that the name he provided was the correct name and date of birth. Eden Prairie Police Sergeant Dean arrived on the scene with an IBIS fingerprint machine, which identified the male as Zekariya Abdifadir Elmi, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter Defendant. Computerized checks of Defendant revealed he had multiple warrants of criminal vehicular operation, false information, and theft. Defendant was placed under arrest and transported to the Hennepin County Jail.
