On April 6, 2026, at about 1:54 P.M., Eden Prairie Police responded to a report of a suspicious male looking at high-value merchandise with his hood up and a facemask concealing his face in Best Buy Outlet, located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in Eden Prairie, Hennepin County. This male, later identified as MUSAB DAYIB MURSAL [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, had asked to look at expensive laptops, and he selected an Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 gaming laptop. He went to the register and attempted to pay for this laptop, listed for $1,680.99, with two different credit cards that were each declined, making the total attempted transactions $3,361.98. Defendant wanted to attempt a third card, which Best Buy did not allow.
Officers apprehended Defendant in the store parking lot. In a search incident to arrest, officers located four credit cards belonging to the same person with initials HH. HH reported that her vehicle had been broken into around noon that same day in Chanhassen, Carver County, MN. Her passenger-side window was broken and her purse, with her wallet containing her ID and credit cards, was stolen from the vehicle. HH reported she received notifications that her credit cards had also been used at Target in Chanhassen.
Law enforcement reviewed photos of the suspect from the Target incident, which took place about 15 minutes prior, and the suspect in that case also matched Defendant. Defendant is currently in custody at Hennepin County Jail.
