On February 3, 2026, local law enforcement was made aware of an individual named Zayne Ty Parisien [DOB REDACTED](hereinafter "Defendant"), who was possibly at Willow Inn and Suites, located 3621 8th Street in the City of Moorhead, County of Clay, State of Minnesota. Defendant had an active warrant for a Federal Supervised Release violation. Law enforcement conducted surveillance at the location and observed a vehicle registered to R. W. R. W. Is Defendant's significant other and had called the vehicle in as stolen on January 30, 2026. R. W. Had reported that she and Defendant had gotten into an argument and Defendant had left with the vehicle and was refusing to answer R. W.'s calls or texts.
R. W. Had also reported Defendant to be in possession of a rifle. Law enforcement also learned that Defendant was attempting to purchase a firearm from Fleet Farm by using the identification of a deceased individual. It was also learned Defendant had passed a couple of checks at the store under the deceased individual's name. Law enforcement further learned that Defendant was tied to a series of on going fraudulent checks being used to make purchases. Staff at the Willow Inn and Suites indicated that there was a room being rented by a person identified as R. W. And the room rented was #105. Room #105 was directly in front of where the vehicle owned by R. W. Was parked.
Staff looked at a picture of Defendant and identified him as the male party seen with R. W. Staff further confirmed that around 1300 hours on February 3, 2026, Defendant was inside Room #105. Law enforcement applied for and was granted a searched warrant to search Room #105 at the Willow Inn and Suites for stolen property, firearms, firearm parts, accessories and ammunition. The search warrant was executed on February 3, 2026. Both R. W. And Defendant were found in the room. The search yielded one 300 Black Out rifle cartridge and a muzzle compensator inside of a blue suitcase containing male clothing.
A plastic baggie of a crystalline substance was found on the south wall table behind the tv. The substance field tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed 0.3 grams. Defendant was taken into custody pursuant to his supervised release warrant. A search of Defendant's criminal history shows an April 27, 2022 conviction for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon from the United States District Court of North Dakota. That conviction is a crime of violence in the State of Minnesota.
