On 04/20/2026 at about 0427 hours, St. Paul Police responded to [ADDRESS REDACTED] in St. Paul, Ramsey County. The complainant, BFR, was texting 911 for help. She reported to dispatch that she was in a gray Kia with a MO license plate traveling to that address. She said the driver, Kardell DAVIS, Jr. (DOB/2006- 06-15), was arguing with her and he was armed with a handgun in his lap. As police responded, dispatch tracked the location of the BFR’s phone as it traveled to Old Hudson Rd. Police spotted it and followed it to a parking lot at [ADDRESS REDACTED]. There, they blocked it in and ordered DAVIS out of the vehicle. DAVIS disobeyed officers’ commands and ultimately had to be physically restrained before he was taken into custody. During a search of the vehicle, police found a loaded Glock 19 (SN#: AFUN882) under the driver’s seat. The gun had been reported stolen out of West.
St. Paul. BFR told police that she and DAVIS had been in a sexual relationship since November 2025. She said they were arguing about the vehicle which she had rented. DAVIS took the vehicle’s keys and wouldn't give them back to her so she could return it to the rental company. DAVIS then drove to his residence, came out with a firearm, put it in his lap, and began driving toward St. Paul which is when she called 911. DAVIS has a previous felony conviction for 1st Degree Burglary (02-CR-24-6345), which makes him ineligible to possess a firearm and/or ammunition.
