On April 3, 2026, at approximately 10:56 P.M., Officer Jacob Bubb from the Cloquet Police Department responded to a report of threatening text messages received by a resident of the City of Cloquet, J. M., [DOB REDACTED], from her ex-boyfriend, MILES GLENN AGURKIS, [DOB REDACTED] (hereinafter DEFENDANT), a resident of the City of Barnum, County of Carlton, Minnesota. Officer Bubb made initial contact with J. M. Via telephone, where she stated that she received approximately fifty text messages from DEFENDANT within the past hour.
She also stated that in that time, she received two voicemail messages from him as well. J. M. Clarified that she had not responded to any of the messages from DEFENDANT. J. M. Stated that the messages began at approximately 10:00 P.M., and in the fourth message, DEFENDANT stated that he was going to kill her someday. She stated he reiterated that threat throughout the messaging. She also stated that one of the voicemails was "graphic" and stated repeatedly that he was going to kill her and cut her head off.
A voicemail message also stated that DEFENDANT would kill J. M. If he knew where she was and that he also would kill her if he saw her. J. M. Stated that she was having a panic attack and was experiencing significant concern for her safety. J. M. Then told officer Bubb that she and DEFENDANT dated romantically approximately four years ago and that they had not spoken much since the relationship ended. She stated that she had previously experienced DEFENDANT repeatedly driving by her apartment, so she was afraid of him finding her location.
Officer Bubb then obtained copies of the text messages and voicemails from J. M. Upon reviewing the first voicemail received at 10:07 P.M., Officer Bubb heard DEFENDANT identify himself to J. M. And state multiple times that he was going to kill her. DEFENDANT stated, "If it was legal to kill your ass, I would do it a hundred percent." DEFENDANT went on to state, "If I knew where you were, I'd fucking cut your head off your fucking body," and "I'm going to fucking kill you with a knife or gun." Officer Bubb then reviewed the second voicemail received at 10:14 P.M. There, DEFENDANT stated, "I just want to kill you like a hundred percent," and "I'm gonna kill you one of these days when fucking people know that your nonexistence has existed, because I'm going to fucking kill you.it's probably going to happen." Officer Bubb then reviewed the text messages and observed the threats to kill J. M. Echoed several times throughout.
In one message, received at approximately 10:04 P.M., DEFENDANT states, "I'm going to kill you 100%." Officer Bubb then ran the phone number from which the calls and texts came from and confirmed that it belonged to DEFENDANT.
