On March 30, 2026, law enforcement responded to the Best Buy located in Oakdale, Washington County, Minnesota, after receiving a theft in-progress report. The complainant, [NAME REDACTED]R., was a loss prevention employee at Best Buy. He reported that a black male wearing a large flannel jacket, brown cargo pants, and a black beanie was concealing items in his pocket. While en route, M. J. R reported that the suspect was leaving with the items still in his pocket. The suspect did not pay for the items.
Officers observed a male that matched the suspect description exit the store. The male was stopped. He was identified as TARICE TARENE ADAMS, [DOB REDACTED], "the defendant" herein. The defendant was searched. Officers located Best Buy merchandise on his person. They also located a baggie containing a crystalized substance in his jacket pocket. The substance later field-tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed 1.5 grams with packaging. M. J. R. Reported that the total value of the merchandise stolen by the defendant was $149.85.
