On May 24, 2025, at approximately 8:36 PM, Deputy Ulbricht received a report from A. G., an adult male fully identified in reports, of a male driving around the city of Freeport with a shotgun. A. G. Reported that he was outside his residence on 2nd Avenue Northeast, in the city of Freeport, county of Stearns, state of Minnesota, when he observed a male, identified as Robert James Moeller, [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein, drive by quickly in his white Mitsubishi Outlander. A. G. Reported that the defendant stopped in the alleyway behind a residence on 2nd Street Northeast before driving off again.
A. G. Reported that his neighbor, A. K., an adult male fully identified in reports, informed him that the defendant had a black shotgun in his lap and appeared to be pointing it towards the residence on 2nd Street Northeast. A. G. Explained that the defendant used to live at that residence with his former spouse before a domestic assault incident. Deputy Ulbricht met with A. K. Who explained he was having a bonfire outside his residence when he heard a vehicle accelerate quickly and pull into the alleyway behind 2nd Street Northeast.
A. K. Reported he saw the defendant in the driver's seat with his left hand holding the barrel end of a black pump style shotgun. A. K. Reported the barrel of the shotgun was resting on the top of the window frame pointing towards the north side of the residence the defendant had previously lived at. A. K. Reported that the defendant then drove away. Law enforcement located the defendant's white Mitsubishi Outlander parked on County Road 11. Law enforcement observed a black pump-style shotgun wrapped in a mat on the passenger seat.
Law enforcement located the defendant walking southbound on County Road 11. The defendant is prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a Domestic Abuse No Contact Order (DANCO) that was issued in Stearns County District Court File No. ••-CR-••-•••• by the Honorable Mary Mahler on April 02, 2025. The DANCO is active and remains in effect until April 02, 2027. Complainant has reason to believe and does believe that all of the above information is true and correct. The above facts constitute your complainant's basis for believing that the above-named defendant, on the 24th day of May, 2025, in the City of Freeport, County of Stearns, State of Minnesota, committed the offenses described herein.
