On 08/09/2025 at 07:29, Shakopee Police Officers were dispatched to [ADDRESS REDACTED] (Holiday Gas Station), Shakopee, Scott County, Minnesota, for a welfare check. The employees reported a black SUV in the outer lot was parked with the passenger door open, and an occupant's limb hanging out. The reporting party was unsure if the person was sleeping or what their status was. The officer arrived at the scene and saw a person's foot sticking out the door. The officer found two parties inside the rear compartment, sleeping.
The parties were identified as Arielle Love Gillis, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the Defendant and DRS, [DOB REDACTED]. Both parties said they were fine and were currently homeless. The officer saw in the front center console and dashboard area, folded squares of tin foil and multiple hypodermic needles. The officer had both the Defendant and DRS exit the vehicle. Both admitted to drug use within the last 24 hours, having used heroin. Both the Defendant and DRS gave consent to search the vehicle, advising nothing illegal was in the vehicle.
During a search, the offices found: A small, zippered bag on the front passenger seat that contained a folded piece of tin foil which had a yellowish substance on it. A field test was inconclusive. The Defendant and DRS were released at the scene. The suspected drugs were sent to the BCA Forensic Laboratory for analysis. On 12/22/2025, the officer received the results from the BCA Forensic laboratory, which showed that the substance tested positive for Fentanyl, Schedule I Controlled Substance, and weighed.023 grams.
