On or about December 14, 2025, officers were dispatched to a group home located in the city of Ramsey, Anoka County, Minnesota, on a report of a domestic assault. Officers arrived and spoke to R. E. E., who stated she heard her roommate’s cat yell. R. E. E. Opened her door and saw JACKSON LY DUPONT [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter Defendant, closing the door on his cat. R. E. E. Grabbed Defendant to pull him away from the door, but Defendant threw her off. Defendant then placed his arm around R. E. E.’s throat and began to apply pressure to the point where R. E. E. Could not breathe.
Staff separated the two, and R. E. E. Went into her room, and Defendant continued to pound loudly on R. E. E.’s door. Officers spoke to Defendant, who admitted to grabbing R. E. E. Around the neck with his right arm and placing R. E. E. In a chokehold. Defendant admitted he was going to make R. E. E. Tap out to teach R. E. E. A lesson. Defendant admitted to continuing to pound on R. E. E.’s door after they were separated. Defendant was previously convicted of two (2) prior qualified domestic violence-related offenses within the past ten years, as defined by Minn.
Stat. § 609.02, subd. 16: 1. On May 17, 2024, Defendant was convicted of assault in the 3rd degree in violation of Minn. Stat. § 609.223, subd. 1. See Anoka County Court File No. ••-CR-••-••••. 2. On May 23, 2024, Defendant was convicted of assault in the 5th degree in violation of Minn. Stat. § 609.224, subd. 1 (1). See Anoka County Court File No. ••-CR-••-••••.
