On 02/09/2026, at approximately 1653 hours, Officers responded to a report of a weapons-pointing incident at 89** Highway 7 in St. Louis Park, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers arrived and met with a known adult male, Victim herein. Victim [NAME REDACTED] had cut a vehicle off as he was attempting to exit Highway 169 onto 36th St. Victim reported that the vehicle then followed him and eventually pulled up next to him at a traffic signal. Victim stated that the driver of that vehicle then rolled down his window and began yelling profanities at Victim.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] said something similar to “I’ll shoot you” while making a gun gesture with his hand. Victim stated that the driver then flashed a pistol at Victim. Victim stated that the driver then spat on Victim’s car then drove away. Victim provided a description of the driver and the vehicle. Based on the information provided by Victim, Officers checked police databases and automated license plate readers (ALPR) for any possible matches in that area around the time of the incident. Officers located an ALPR hit on the vehicle that occurred at 1652 hours.
Officers observed that the vehicle was registered to a business and made contact with the business owner, Witness herein, who did not match the description of the suspect provided by Victim. Witness stated that the vehicle was in the possession of an employee, identified as ANTHONY THOMAS MITCHELL, Jr., [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. Witness provided Officers with Defendant’s address. Officers obtained a search warrant for Defendant’s home and vehicle and executed it. Officers located a bag of.22 caliber ammunition but did not locate a pistol.
Defendant is not in custody.
