JERON AADANTE BENSON, [DOB REDACTED], has the following prior domestic violence related convictions in the past ten years. ••-CR-••-••••, Domestic Assault, gross misdemeanor, conviction 08/22/2024 ••-CR-••-••••, Domestic Assault, misdemeanor conviction, 12/19/2023 On December 20, 2025, at 7:46 A.M., Saint Paul Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Ross Avenue, Saint Paul, County of Ramsey, on a domestic assault. Dispatch notes included a male and female were arguing. The female caller told dispatch her face was messed up and she needed police and medics.
Officer Allia arrived and met JEP, who was crying. JEP had injuries to her face-a cut to her forehead and above her eye. Her shirt was ripped and had blood on it. She also had red marks on both sides of her neck. JEP’s right eye was swollen. JEP said, “Look what he did to my face?” When asked to identify who injured her, JEP said BENSON. When asked how she was hit, JEPP clenched her fist and swung it in a punching motion. JEP’s brother was present during the assault. JEP’s children were also present during the incident.
Seven children between the ages of four and eight were inside a room. The children said they did not observe the incident. JEP’s brother (B1) said one of the children went to the basement, awakened him, and said, “That nigga fighting mama.” JEP appeared intoxicated. He said he went upstairs and saw BENSON on top of JEP, possibly choking her but he was unsure. He approached. BENSON looked, got off of JEP, and exited through the sliding glass door. B1 said he was not sure what BENSON did to JEP. JEP was transported to United Hospital.
She said she, BENSON, and family members were drinking to celebrate her son getting out of jail. BENSON told her she messed up, and hit her. She fell to the floor, and got up to defend herself. BENSON choked her. JEP thinks BENSON used his hands to choke her, but she does not remember because it happened so fast. She blacked out, felt dizzy, and fell down when she was choked. JEP thought the assault occurred between 4-5:00 A.M. On December 20th. She said she is afraid BENSON is going to kill her.
BENSON is the father of her children. BENSON was not on scene when officers responded. Officers went to the 1000 block of 4th Street, where BENSON resides. At the apartment, BENSON’s mother answered the door and said he was in the shower. BENSON exited the shower and was arrested. BENSON said JEP makes accusations to get him arrested. After a Miranda advisory, BENSON spoke to an investigator. BENSON said JEP is the mother of his four children. He stays with JEP at her residence at times. He was at JEP’s residence for party for her son who was getting released from prison.
People consumed alcohol at the party. He fell asleep on the couch. He awakened to JEP on top of him and choking him. JEP told him, “Get the f*** into bed.” BENSON said JEP was intoxicated. BENSON denied choking or assaulting JEP. BENSON said he had had domestic cases in the past with JEP, but he is off of probation.
