On or about December 17, 2025, Hopkins police responded to a theft of a motor vehicle from a Napa auto parts store located [ADDRESS REDACTED], Hopkins, Hennepin County, Minnesota. The reporting party indicated that he was test-driving a truck for a customer and took it to the store to get parts for it. He went inside and left the truck running. While that was happening, a person later identified as JOANN LINDA STECKLEIN [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, got into the truck and stole it. The reporting party was able to call police and follow in a Napa truck until police could stop and arrest Defendant.
No one had permission to take or drive the vehicle. Hopkins Police has had past interactions with Defendant where she was stopped for attempting to steal a vehicle on December 11, 2025, and warned police she would steal another vehicle if she got another chance. At this time, Defendant in custody for this offense and has two pending felony charges in Hennepin County for damage to property and theft of another motor vehicle.
