On January 7, 2026, at approximately 9:51 PM, St. Cloud Police officers were dispatched to a residence located on St. Germain Street West, in the City of St. Cloud, County of Stearns, State of Minnesota, for a possible burglary in progress. When officers arrived, they spoke with the owner of the residence, CMO, an adult male fully identified in the police reports. CMO stated that he was alerted to live camera footage of the residence which showed a male inside the residence and exiting with a quilt and clothing from the residence.
Officers recognized the male from previous law enforcement contacts as, DAVID JAMES POTRATZ, [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein. CMO stated that the defendant did not have consent to be at or inside the residence or remove anything from the residence. Officers located the defendant in the area a couple of hours later. The defendant had the quilt and clothing from CMO's residence on his person when officers encountered him. Complainant has reason to believe and does believe that all of the above information is true and correct.
The above facts constitute your complainant's basis for believing that the above-named defendant, on the 7th Day of January, 2026, in the City of St. Cloud, County of Stearns, State of Minnesota, committed the offenses described herein.
