On January 23, 2026, at approximately 10:22 P.M., Minneapolis Police Officers responded to an intrusion alarm at Maria's Cafe, [ADDRESS REDACTED] East [APT REDACTED], Minneapolis, Hennepin County. In a search of the exterior of the building, Officers observed additional damage in [APT REDACTED], Woodlands National Bank. Officers observed completely shattered glass doors and could hear someone inside the building attempting to gain access to other rooms using a blunt instrument or kicking a door. Officers then observed who was later identified through IBIS as ABDIKADAR ABDIRASHID OSMAN, Defendant herein.
Officers learned that the Defendant was the subject of several police reports on January 2, 2026, for damage to property; January 4, 2026, burglary of a business; and January 6, 2026, burglary of a business and damage to a motor vehicle. The Defendant was placed under arrest. In a search incident to arrest, Officers located shards of glass in his pockets. Officers reviewed surveillance of the incident that showed the Defendant break the door window, crawl through the bottom of the door to the bank, and then once inside threw rocks against the bank teller glass.
The Defendant then started kicking in the door to the teller area to gain access. The Defendant then used his hands in an attempt to open locked filing cabinets and lift the teller glass. The damage is estimated to be over $1,000. The State requests this complaint issue as a warrant. The Defendant was charged with First Degree Damage to Property and Tamper with Motor Vehicle in case file 27-CR-26-1076 with a date of offense on January 11, 2026. The Defendant appeared for a First Appearance on January 14, 2026, and was placed on conditional release.
This case occurred eight days later, and the allegations violate his conditions of release to remain law abiding.
