On January 23, 2025, at approximately 1:22 P.M., law enforcement was dispatched to the St. Cloud Hospital in the City of St. Cloud, County of Stearns, State of Minnesota on a report of a patient assaulting an emergency room nurse, A. L. L. (fully identified in police reports). The patient was identified as Linda Beth Weller, [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein. Officer Jayden Pukula of the St. Cloud Police Department responded. A. L. L. Indicated the Defendant was intoxicated and being treated in the emergency room.
Defendant needed to be placed in a restraint chair because she was trying to leave and was not capable of caring for herself. When A. L. L. Assisted in trying to get the defendant into the restraint chair, Defendant grabbed or hit A. L. L.'s face. A. L. L. Had a scratch from the encounter. Her mask was also pulled down and her glasses flew off. A. L. L. Had visible redness on her forehead as a result of Defendant's actions. A. L. L. Indicated Defendant's actions were intentional. Hospital staff indicated there had been other prior incidents where Defendant scratched staff, causing harm.
Complainant has reason to believe and does believe that all of the above information is true and correct. The above facts constitute your complainant's basis for believing that the above-named defendant, on or about the 23rd day of January, 2025, in the City of St. Cloud, County of Stearns, State of Minnesota, committed the offenses described herein.
