On November 22, 2025, at approximately 10:15 P.M., officers of the Brooklyn Center Police Department responded to reports of a burglary in progress occurring at an occupied residence located at [ADDRESS REDACTED], City of Brooklyn Center, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Upon arrival officers contacted the reporting party, VICTIM [NAME REDACTED], who indicated that a known male, SAVION ANTWUAN MURRAY [DOB REDACTED], DEFENDANT herein, knocked onto the door of the residence while covering the peep hole.
VICTIM [NAME REDACTED] opened the door to attempt to identify the caller at which time DEFENDANT and an unknown second male began to assault VICTIM. While this occurred, a second resident, WITNESS [NAME REDACTED] attempted to intervene, however a physical altercation occurred in the common hallway where DEFENDANT and the unknown second male assaulted VICTIM. VICTIM [NAME REDACTED] from the melee and retreat to the residence; however, DEFENDANT forced his way into the residence and continued to assault VICTIM [NAME REDACTED], striking him multiple times while inside.
VICTIM [NAME REDACTED] stated that DEFENDANT is known to the family due to sharing a child with VICTIM [NAME REDACTED]’s sister. Officers interviewed multiple witnesses from inside the residence that corroborated VICTIM’s statement, to include WITNESSES C. J. And C. D. J. Officers were able to observe evidence of a physical altercation in the common hallway in the form of blood splatter as well as a shoe and hat belonging to DEFENDANT. Officers also observed injuries to VICTIM consisting of scratches and scrapes to his neck, body, and knuckles.
VICTIM [NAME REDACTED] has been threatening him for some time and indicated that during this altercation, DEFENDANT threatened to kill him. WITNESS [NAME REDACTED] told officers that she attempted to intervene when DEFENDANT entered the residence and began striking VICTIM [NAME REDACTED]. The WITNESSES did not observe the second unknown male enter the residence. VICTIM [NAME REDACTED] in a neighboring apartment and had no consent or other legal authority to enter VICTIM’s residence. DEFENDANT has the following QDVROS within the last 3 years: (1) Assault, 4th Degree, 02-CR-24-1615, 5/5/2025; and (2) Threats of Violence, 27-CR-23-13542, 12/20/2024. DEFENDANT is not presently in custody.
The State requests a complaint warrant issue due to DEFENDANT’s history of convictions for assaultive conduct. DEFENDANT is also on probation in 27-CR- 23-13542 for Felony Assault, 4th Degree.
