On November 5, 2025, officers responded to a report of a burglary at a business located at [ADDRESS REDACTED]. S, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. The reporting party indicated that six Electric hair clippers valued at $200 each, two Scissors valued at $120 each, a Samsung phone for the business valued at $200, and $600 in cash were stolen from the business overnight. Surveillance video shows a suspect wearing a light-colored hat, a darker jacket, light pants, and a backpack making a prying motion to the door and gaining entry.
Surveillance video from the area depicts the suspect as a black male with a fairly thin build, light complexion, black glasses with frames, and wearing a mask. Law enforcement sent out a DIB post seeking for other agencies to assist in identifying the suspect. Another agency responded that the suspect appeared to be LARRY LEE BARNETT, DEFENDANT herein, based on build and facial features. The DEFENDANT was also wearing a mask and shoes identical to those worn by the DEFENDANT in another crime committed in November 2025. In a post-Miranda interview, the DEFENDANT agreed that the person depicted in the surveillance footage shortly after the burglary was him.
Law enforcement obtained a subpoena for cell phone records relating to the phone stolen from the business. In response, law enforcement determined that the cell phone was utilized to call numbers registered to "Terry Barnett" and "Brenda Barnett", who are known associates of the DEFENDANT. The DEFENDANT is currently in custody on an unrelated matter.
