On March 19, 2026, Officer with the Chaska Police Department responded to an apartment complex located on the 200th block of Crosstown Blvd., in the city of Chaska Carver County. The initial call was regarding an ongoing domestic assault wherein Dominic Cory Somlai, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, was arrested for multiple domestic abuse charges. This matter is pending in Carver County District Court file ••-CR-••-••••. During the investigation, it was reported that Defendant is the half brother of the Victim (both have the same biological mother). The Victim (fully identified in law enforcement reports) reported that when she was 17 years old Defendant had sex with her over 30 times.
Victim provided a voluntarily statement the next day. Victim explained that she first started speaking with Defendant on Facebook messenger where Defendant would sometimes talk sexual to her. In November of 2025, Victim and Victim's mother went to the Mall of America to meet Defendant. Defendant ended up coming back home with them and stayed at the apartment in Chaska. Defendant was suppose to leave the next day but did not leave. Over the next few months Victim explained that Defendant became verbally abusive and starting talking about wanting to be in a relationship with Victim and initiated sexual contact with Victim.
More specifically, Defendant would rub Victim's thigh and boobs. The first time it happened Defendant took Victim [NAME REDACTED] on the floor, took off her cloths, took off his pants and underwear (still wearing a shirt) and insert his penis into Victim's vagina. Lasted approximately 5 or 6 minutes and Defendant ejaculated inside victim's vagina. This sexual assault happened before Thanksgiving of 2025, but after meeting Defendant at the Mall of America. The sexual assaults continued over the next several months and each time Defendant would ejaculate inside Victim and say he wanted to get her pregnant.
Defendant only wore a condom one time. The places Defendant had sex with Victim [NAME REDACTED] in Victim's room but one time it was in their mom's room, and another time was in the hallway. Victim [NAME REDACTED] did not think their mom knew that Defendant was having sex with Victim [NAME REDACTED] told Victim to be quiet or Defendant would have sex with Victim [NAME REDACTED] was not home. Victim [NAME REDACTED] had sex with her approximately 30 times and had sex with her 4 times after she turned 18 years old in February of 2026. Victim explained that many times she said "no" and would cry during it.
Sometimes during sex Defendant would grab Victim around the neck and become physically abusive. Victim recalled telling Defendant that it hurt and to stop. Defendant has told her that if she tells anyone about them having sex he would kill her. Defendant has told Victim [NAME REDACTED] has a list of people he wants to have killed, but she does not remember the names that Defendant told her. During the initial contact with law enforcement Defendant provided a mirandized statement and denied having sex with Victim [NAME REDACTED] has kissed her on the cheek one time.
