On 01/17/2026 at 18:10, Shakopee Police Officers were dispatched to **** Switchgrass Court, Shakopee, Scott County, Minnesota, for a domestic report. While enroute, dispatch advised officers that the reporting party, AMA, [DOB REDACTED], was scared that her husband was going to hurt her and that the husband was not currently at the listed address. The husband was identified by Abdi as Zein Ahmad Abgao, [DOB redacted], hereinafter the Defendant. At the Scene, AMA told the officers: The Defendant had been acting weird for a long time now.
She is married to the Defendant. The Defendant threatened her that if she did not get his Green Card paperwork fixed, he would mess everything up in her life. The Defendant threatened to "do something bad to your kids", to burn down her house, and that he will then leave the country after he does that. He was upset she was not working on his Green Card and said he would make sure AMA was in a coma or dead and then he would leave the country. He didn't want to leave AMA and then she would get a husband and build a life, He will make sure he finish her and then go back to my country.
He works at Walmart and gets off at 11pm or 12pm. She said the Defendant has been physically abusive with her previously, but she has not called the police herself before. Her child had gone to school previously and had reported the abuse that was taking place. She said she had photos and videos of the injuries that the Defendant had caused her during previous incidents of abuse. (AMA provided the officers with the videos and photos of the injuries she had. All photos and videos were uploaded to Axon). The first incident was on 10/07/2025 at the residence.
The Defendant found out his Geen Card was rejected. He got upset with AMA. The Defendant began to strangle her, and she went down on the floor. AMA provided officers with videos and photos of the strangulation marks on her neck. The videos showed scabbing and deep bruising on AMA's neck. AMA clarified that the scabbing was due to the Defendant's nails digging into her skin. She stated that after this incident, she moved out of her shared bedroom with the Defendant and into her daughter's room. The Second incident was 10/31/2025 at the residence.
She went out to help a friend with a wedding. When she came home, the Defendant accused her of being out with other men. The Defendant had her get in the car and drive to Riverside Park at the event. She tried to show the Defendant video of food preparation. The Defendant then began punching and hitting her inside of the car. Shew got out of the car and fell down. The Defendant got out and continued to hit her. A car drove by and the Defendant got back in the car and drove away. The Defendant came back and found her and started to hit her again and took her phone.
