On March 26, 2026, officer with the Bloomington Police Department were alerted to a theft at Walmart at [ADDRESS REDACTED] E, Bloomington, Hennepin County, Minnesota. The suspect, later identified as Dontae Joemarquis Foreman a/k/a Dontae Joe Marquis Foreman, [DOB REDACTED], “Defendant” herein. Defendant was observed with concealed merchandise; he spent some time at the self-checkout then passed all points of sale. When Defendant was stopped, he was found to be in possession of a wallet with his own credit cards, and a card displaying the name of M. A. G., “Victim” herein.
Officers learned that Defendant had attempted to pay for some merchandise with his own card, but also with the card belonging to Victim. Defendant was arrested and, in a search, officers located a small bindle of clear/crystalline substance in Defendant’s right sock. The bindle later weighed 0.48 grams without packaging and field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Officers also located a can of OC or “pepper spray” in Defendant’s backpack. The value of the recovered merchandise was determined to be $13.04. In a post-Miranda statement Defendant admitted he had stolen a charger from Walmart, that he had attempted to use the card that did not belong to him after he found it outside, he does use methamphetamine but is not addicted, and, that he did not know he wasn’t allowed to have pepper spray.
Defendant has previously been convicted of felony Drugs in the Fifth Degree on or about March 22, 2023, in 05-CR-21-1523. Defendant has previously been convicted of gross misdemeanor Burglary in the Third Degree in violation of Minn. Stat. 609.582, subd. 3 on or about October 16, 2025, in 62-CR-24-2084.
