On July 16, 2025 Woodbury Police officers received a report from the property manager of 2119 Vermillion Curve, Woodbury, Washington County, Minnesota, who reported that one of the renters of the property J. L. L. May be using a stolen identity. The property manager reported that the agency had received rental payments from Apple Pay using a phone number ending in 0539, which officers learned was associated with JADE JACORA JONES [DOB redacted] (Defendant). The property manager also provided a rental application, lease agreement, and credit report all under the name J. L. L. Officers had previously been out to the address on an unrelated call previously on July 14, 2025, at which time Defendant and N. J. Were the adult residents.
Officers also spoke with N. J., who reported Defendant and N. J. Were going through a divorce but confirmed they resided at the Vermillion address. Officers contacted the real J. L. L who reported she had never lived nor rented property in Minnesota. J. L. L. Also stated she had been contacted previously by a property manager about a rental agreement and an alleged realtor who reported someone maybe trying to use her identity. J. L. L. Did not give anyone permission to use her personal identifying information.
During the course of their investigation officers received information that Defendant was being provided personal identifying information to use for rentals from Majinieke Thompson. Thompson was arrested and charged in 27-CR-25-8101 for providing credit privacy numbers (CPN), altered government identification, fraudulent paystubs, for individuals to use. As part of their investigation into Thompson, Anoka-Hennepin law enforcement developed the following information which they provided to Woodbury police: Thompson arranged the fraudulent rental of 3334 Hazel Trail #C, Woodbury, Washington County, for Defendant.
Thompson used the CPN of C. N., a California resident to arrange the rental of the home. On April 1, 2022, Defendant pays $700 to Thompson via Apple Pay to arrange the rental agreement and to cover the cost of the CPN. Defendant provided Thompson with an email address, the last 5 of her social security and the names of her children for the rental agreement, all of which was Defendant's actual information. Thompson then instructed Defendant to create an email address using C. N.'s name so as to match the CPN. All of this correspondence was carried out using a phone number known to belong to Defendant.
Defendant then moved into the Hazel Trail Address on June 1, 2022 and was evicted on June 20, 2023. The owner of Hazel Trail suffered a loss $9197.17 in unpaid rents. On February 25, 2026 police made contact with the owner of the 2119 Vermillion Curve address, at which time they learned Defendant had abruptly moved out. Defendant had not paid the last months rent of $3,500, left an outstanding water bill of $2,000 and had stolen much of the outdoor furniture from the residence. While the initial deposit covered much of the replacement furniture and damage to the unit, the owner was left with a loss of approximately $5,500.
