On about March 16, 2025, officers attempted to stop a car that Defendant Dajion Jakar Strickling [DOB REDACTED] was riding in because the driver had an active felony warrant. The car fled. When officers located the car after it fled, they saw the driver and Defendant get out of the car and start running from police. When officers caught up to Defendant, officers saw Defendant had a firearm in his right hand. Officers were able to gain control of the firearm from Defendant and throw it forward so the firearm was not in close proximity to Defendant while officers were placing him under arrest.
Based on a review of Defendant's criminal history, he is prohibited from possessing a firearm based on the following convictions/adjudications of delinquency: 27-JV-14-7887- 1st degree burglary; and 27-CR-18- 26392- prohibited person in possession of a firearm. Defendant is currently in custody.
