On May 12, 2026, Carver County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to reports of a threatening phone call at a business in Waconia, Carver County, Minnesota. After receiving the report, Sergeant Howard learned that the phone call came from a number associated with CLAYTON EUGENE FOX [DOB REDACTED]. Deputy Vivas arrived and spoke with Manager, an adult female fully identified in police reports. Manager reported that one of her employees answered a phone call earlier in the day in which the caller identified Victim, an adult female fully identified in police reports, by name and threatened to kill her.
Manager further reported that the caller said, “it’s taking everything in [my] power to not come in here and kill [you].” Deputy Vivas spoke with Witness 1, an adult female fully identified in police reports. Witness 1 reported that she answered the call on her work phone and heard a voice laughing on the other end. The caller stated that he knows where Victim lives and that she better watch her eyelids while she sleeps as he was going to come and kill her. Deputy Vivas also spoke with Witness 2, an adult male fully identified in police reports.
Witness 2 reported that he interacted with a suspicious individual the day before who made concerning comments about Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Witness 2 described the suspect as a middle-aged white man with black hair. After speaking with the employees, Deputy Vivas made contact with Victim. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was a concerning interaction with the suspect male while she was at work on May 11 and that she was wearing a name tag with her first name during the interaction. Victim described the suspect as a while male with dark hair.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] was worried and scared following the threatening phone call. Deputy Vivas returned to the business and reviewed surveillance footage of the incidents. Deputy Vivas confirmed that Fox matched the description of the suspect described by Witness 2 and Victim. Deputy Vivas went to Fox’s address to discuss the incident. Fox answered the door and stated that he thought law enforcement was there because of a bad situation at the store. Fox acknowledged that he made the phone call and the threatening statements.
