On March 13, 2026, at 6:27 A.M., employee from Northern Tool Equipment reported a theft that had occurred from the business located in Woodbury, Washington County, Minnesota. Employee said that on March 12, 2026, at 6:30 P.M., a man walked into the store went to the chainsaws and cut the security tag off of the chainsaw. The man then exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the chainsaw. The chainsaw was a Stihl 6387 valued at $1,689. Employee provided surveillance video and vehicle information to law enforcement.
The man was identified as Jeffery Jerome Gardner, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. Law enforcement was able to talk to Defendant on March 17, 2026. Defendant at first doubted the video showed him taking the chainsaw. Defendant then admitted his behavior and said he wanted to stop living like this and go to treatment. Defendant also asked what would happen if he just brought it back. Defendant is in custody.
