On June 21, 2025, Apple Valley Police Officers were dispatched to a series of burglaries that occurred near Harmony Court, Apple Valley, Dakota County. One of the homes that was burglarized belonged to S. M. And R. M. Where several items were taken while they were asleep in their home including their credit cards. The suspect of the burglaries was identified as Matthew Starnes and he is charged in case file 19HA-CR- 25-1279. On June 22, 2025, S. M. And R. M's credit cards were used at Target located at the Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis, Hennepin County for $518 and $206; Walmart located in Bloomington, Hennepin County, for $206; AM Food and Tobacco in Minneapolis, Hennepin County for $150; and, at Haskell's in Minneapolis, Hennepin County for $89 and $52. The total of transactions is $1,221. Surveillance from the stores showed who was later identified as DWIGHT ANTHONY JONES, Defendant herein, using S. M. And R. M's financial cards to complete each purchase.
The Defendant's identification was confirmed through his tattoos seen in surveillance and prior booking photos. The Defendant currently has active warrants and therefore the State requests this complaint issue as a warrant.
