In court file 74-CR-25-1048, GAVIN KYLE UZZELL, [DOB REDACTED], was convicted of Violation of Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, felony conviction, date 7/22/2025. UZZELL is prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition. On January 4, 2026, at approximately 7:29 P.M., Saint Paul Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Arundel Street, Saint Paul, County of Ramsey, on an assault where someone was shot. The victim-later identified as SCH-was in route to Regions Hospital. Officers met the vehicle used to transport SCH to the hospital.
Officer Doebbert went to Regions Hospital and made contact with SCH who was being taken into an emergency room. When asked who shot her, SCH responded, “roommate.” In a subsequent conversation with an officer, SCH said her roommate “Gavin” shot her while she was seated on the couch. She thought the shooting was an accident. Officers were advised SCH would go into surgery. Later, medical staff advised SCH had non-life threatening injuries. Subsequent interview with SCH In a subsequent interview with an investigator, SCH said she is staying at the apartment, and Airbnb, with AK and UZZELL. UZZELL stays in the living room on the couch.
The safe in the living room belongs to UZZELL. On the date of the incident, she was in the apartment with UZZELL, TF, and AK. She was seated on the sofa in the living room playing on her phone. UZZELL reached down to pick up a gun he was working on or cleaning from the floor. She heard two shots go off. She was struck in the rib cage area. UZZELL is AK’s friend. She believes both are involved in selling drugs like Xanax and cocaine. UZZELL has a 3D printer that he uses to print gun parts because he can’t possess firearms.
UZZELL purchases the pieces he can, and then prints and assembles the rest. TF statement TF was inside the car that transported SCH to hospital. She was asked what happened, and said she did not know. She said her friend was shot and was inside the hospital. TF would not answer questions about who shot SCH. TF said she was inside and believed the suspect shot from outside the home, but said she did not really know. TF became upset and stopped speaking with an officer. AK statement AK said he lives in the apartment with his girlfriend, SCH. UZZELL is their roommate.
TF is UZZELL’s girlfriend. The four were in the apartment. UZZELL was cleaning a rifle in the living room. SCH was seated on a couch under the television. The rifle fired twice, striking SCH. He believed the rifle fired accidentally, but was not sure. He picked up SCH, carried her to her vehicle, and drove her to Regions Hospital. UZZELL’s arrest Officers met the building’s caretaker, CS, who directed officers to [APT REDACTED], where a male was seen running into.
