On April 24, 2026, law enforcement responded to a possible domestic assault around 12:48 A.M. Near the 2800 block of Jordan Ave in Minnetonka, Hennepin County, Minnesota. The 911 caller, a known adult female hereinafter Victim, reported that a male had been calling her repeatedly and banging on her door. On arrival, officers observed a lone male jogging in the area of the apartment complex--while wearing a face mask and in the middle of the night. Victim was still on the phone with dispatch and confirmed that the male suspect officers encountered on arrival was the person who was inside her apartment earlier.
Victim identified the suspect as ABDULAHI MOHAMED AHMED, Defendant herein. Victim observed to be in a panicked state and officers observed damage to her apartment door consistent with it being kicked in. Victim reported that she and Defendant had recently ended their relationship and that she had been receiving many calls from him in the last month using a blocked number. Victim turned her phone off that night to stop the calls which caused Defendant to come to her residence. Victim reported being in her bedroom when she heard a knock on her door, followed by several loud bangs.
Defendant was yelling through the door, asking who was inside with Victim. Defendant eventually broke the door open and entered the apartment. Defendant smelled heavily of alcohol and went around searching in each room. Victim was afraid Defendant would hurt her when he busted into her apartment. Victim was still shaking when officers arrived and reported being very fearful. Victim confirmed that Defendant was not on her lease and not welcome in her home. Officers obtained Defendant's phone number from Victim and confirmed that the phone was in Defendant's possession.
Defendant was interviewed by police and initially claimed he was just out for a run in the area. When confronted with Victim's account, Defendant denied being anywhere near Victim's apartment but then went on to say he "didn't steal anything" so he couldn't be charged with burglary. Defendant made statements appearing confident that Victim would not cooperate to identify him. Defendant was placed under arrest for Burglary and Domestic Assault. Defendant is currently in custody.
