On October 16, 2025, Eric Richard Vosburgh [DOB REDACTED] was arrested for making threats of violence against Victim 1. Victim 1 and Vosburg are the sole occupants of two separate units in a duplex in Blue Earth County. The arrest followed the alleged statement to Victim 1 by Vosburgh, “I will f****** kill you,” after Victim 1 observed Vosburgh acting very strangely around their building, entering and leaving Vosburgh’s unit repeatedly through a window and swinging an axe around in a shared backyard space.
When Vosburgh spoke with police, Vosburgh falsely claimed Victim 1 had been locking Vosburgh out of Vosburgh’s residence. After Vosburgh was arrested, Vosburgh said he was not sure what happened and admitted he lost his temper. In the morning on November 5, 2025, Victim 1 called 911 to report Vosburgh was yelling, “I’m going to f****** kill you” while the two occupied their units in Blue Earth County. Victim 1 also said Victim 1 thought Victim 1 heard Vosburgh cocking a gun. Victim 1 explained Victim 1 knew the threats were directed toward Victim 1 because Victim 1 and Vosburgh are the only people in the building and Vosburgh also shouted, “do you hear that?
Are you listening to me?” Earlier that morning, Victim 1 called police after hearing Vosburgh screaming Vosburgh was going to kill himself and his mother. Officer Pike called Victim 1 after the second 911 call by Victim 1. Victim 1 reported to Officer Pike that Vosburgh was smashing things in his unit and throwing things out into the street. Victim 1 said Vosburgh was shouting that Vosburgh was going to kill someone. When Officer Terry responded to the scene, Terry observed Vosburgh throw a computer tower out the front door of the duplex.
Terry arrested Vosburgh and while they waited for additional officers to arrive, Vosburgh talked to himself and to Vosburgh’s mother who was not present. Several times, Vosburgh said Vosburgh wanted officers to shoot Vosburgh and to die. When Officer Pike arrived, he observed the shared backyard riddled with items and the window to Vosburgh’s unit completely open. Inside the duplex, Vosburgh’s front door was wide open. Vosburgh’s unit was in disarray and there was no bed. Victim 1 told Officer Pike Victim 1 believed Vosburgh would harm Victim 1 if they crossed paths and Victim 1 had been using Victim 1’s window to enter and exit Victim 1’s unit and avoid Vosburgh.
Victim 1 barricaded Victim 1’s door. Victim 1 told police Victim 1 was scared by Vosburgh’s threats and conduct. Officer McClinton reported Vosburgh has a history of poor mental health, using methamphetamine, and making threats. After Vosburgh was transported to the hospital for an assessment, Vosburgh made several comments to McClinton about killing Vosburgh and shooting Vosburgh in the head. McClinton contacted Vosburgh’s mother regarding the threats Vosburgh made about Vosburgh’s mother. Vosburgh’s mother said Vosburgh stops taking Vosburgh’s medication, uses street drugs, and then gets like this.
